The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has unveiled the registration schedule for the Undergraduate Studies Admission Test (USAT) 2024, with the deadline set for June 30, 2024, and the tentative test date scheduled for July 14, 2024.

It is worth mentioning that, as of now most universities announce their admissions programme independently and have their own admission test - they do not essentially require that candidates must take this test, however, there could be universities that accept the USAT score for inclusion in their weightage-based merit determining formula.

Administered by the Education Testing Council (ETC), the USAT mirrors the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) format and serves as a gateway to undergraduate programs across universities in Pakistan. It covers diverse disciplines such as Engineering, Medicine, IT, Management, and Social Sciences. Successful candidates gain eligibility akin to SAT scores for university admissions.

Eligibility extends to students who have completed their Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or equivalent, those awaiting final examination results, and individuals with 12 years of education in any discipline.

The USAT comprises two parts: Part 1 involves 75 multiple-choice questions (35 Verbal Reasoning, 40 Quantitative Reasoning) to be completed in 100 minutes. Part 2 assesses Essay Writing Skills in 400-500 words in either English or Urdu within 40 minutes, accounting for 25 marks. A score of 50 or above qualifies applicants, with the maximum achievable score being 100.

Initially planned quarterly in major Pakistani cities, additional sessions may be arranged as needed. The annual test calendar is published on the ETC website, facilitating online registration through the designated portal.

To apply for USAT 2024, candidates must complete their profiles and submit applications via the "Undergraduate Studies Admission Test" section on http://etc.hec.gov.pk. For assistance, visit onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk or regional HEC offices.

Application submission requires payment via participating banks, ATMs, internet banking, mobile apps (EasyPaisa, JazCash, UPaisa), using the 1Link 1bill service. Payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
