Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood, Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), has launched an initiative to enhance the examination system by digitizing the question paper creation process. A training workshop for faculty members was conducted, focusing on establishing an "item bank" for question papers. The first phase targets BS (ODL) programs, while the second phase extends to Matriculation, FA, Associate Degree, Post Graduate Diploma Programs, Teachers Training Programs, MPhil, and PhD programs. Each course's item bank includes 300 MCQs, 100 short questions, and 50 long questions. This transformation allows the examination department to swiftly prepare papers with collaboration from course coordinators, faculty, and experts. Notably, the updated approach introduces MCQs for improved student comprehension, as directed by Prof. Dr. Nasir Mahmood.
